Pujol

Pujol is the best restaurant in Mexico City. Chef Enrique Olvera has created a dining experience that brings traditional Mexican flavors and techniques to a high-end kitchen. You definitely want to eat here.

We did the $100 per person tasting menu. If you want, you can split a tasting menu, which is what we did. Neither my mom nor I eat large quantities of food at once. We had also had a big lunch earlier in the day, and didn’t want to stuff ourselves again. There was no issue when we asked to split the tasting menu! Cocktails are about $10-$12 per piece and very artisanal and hand crafted.

This is the most amazing Mexican food, elevated to a level of fine dining, that each plate is a piece of art. The chef’s goals are to explore Mexico and its pre-Columbian and post-Columbian culinary influences and the ingredients that make up the food traditions. Despite the traditional basis of the foods, the dishes served are very modern and eclectic. Make sure to book your reservations months in advance. As soon as you book your plane tickets to Mexico City, book your dinner reservation and Pujol.

-You can book through OpenTable, with a link at the Pujol website.

-If your visit to Mexico City is very far into the future, you can email info@pujol.com.mx directly to book a table.

Pujol only has two seatings a night. There is no flexibility on this.

They've got an early seating at 6:30 p.m. and a late seating at 9:45 p.m. Because the tasting menu takes about 2.5 hours to complete, they must stick to this schedule.
