911 in Mexico’s Emergency number for police, fire, or medical. You may face some translation challenges, but in case of an Emergency and you need immediate help, 911 is the number to call.

If you are in Mexico, help may be closer than you think. Determine if there is a Consulate or Consular Agency near you that can help. Find your nearest American Citizens Services location.

U.S. citizen emergencies include but are not limited to arrests, deaths, hospitalizations, air ambulance, and victims of crime.

U.S. Citizens needing immediate assistance can call the Embassy at any time from:

During Business Hours: Dial 5080-2000 to reach American Citizens Services.

Outside Business Hours: Press “0” to speak to an operator and ask to be connected to the Duty Officer. Note: this service is ONLY for assistance in an emergency directly affecting a U.S. Citizen in Mexico.
